PTT (transmitting) must be done only in three possible ways:

1. By microphone, PTT disconnected from the transceiver and connected directly to the sequencer
2. By foot switch
3. By computer PTT control (WSJT, FT8, etc.)

Buy a reliable sequencer with microprocessor control (not with three transistors or analog chips)
Put at least 100 ms sequencer delay.
Look at the schematic and connect accordingly.
You will never burn the preamplifier.

Forget the sequencer in:
IC9700

  • Wrong place for the sequencer (The first must be switched preamplifier, not transceiver)
  • Timings are not possible to change or correct
  • Low output current to drive preamplifier
  • Icom could be burned by high current

In the linear amplifier

  • Wrong place for the sequencer (The first must be switched preamplifier, not linear amp.)
  • Timings are not possible to change or correct
  • Too late to reliably avoid burning the preamplifier
