More about Antennas-Amplifiers power combiners/dividers

Power dividers (coaxial splitters) have a nominal input impedance of 50 Ohms or by special request 75 Ohms. Produced on a high-precision CNC machine, so you should expect excellent phase balance. All dividers are tested on the network analyzer, to check all electrical specifications including the best possible Return Loss / SWR on the desired frequency range.

There are two main types of coaxial power dividers.

  1. 1/4 Wavelength power dividers (0.25WL) with 1 (one) input connector on one side, and 2, 3, and 4 output connectors on another side. The advantage of this coaxial power divider is that it has a minimal length, extremely low loss, and good bandwidth.
  2. 1/2 Wavelength power dividers (0.5WL) have 1 (one) input connector in the middle of the divider, and 2, 4, 6, and 8 output connectors on the edges. The advantage of this coaxial power divider is that it has extremely low loss, and wider bandwidth than 1/4 WL, but is roughly two times physically longer than 1/4WL power dividers. Wide bandwidth is not necessary for ham radio bands, only if you need a better position of “N” connectors.

Customization is available on request. Possible frequencies at which we can produce dividers are from 50 MHz to 6 GHz. Standard power dividers use “N” connectors on all ports. For very high power standard is 7/16DIN on the input side. By requested SO239, BNC for low frequencies, or SMA connector types for any frequency.

Request measured cables to connect the dividers with the antennas.

By ordering with divider and or antennas request measured LMR400 cables. Eliminate possible phase imbalance that can occur on unequal electrical cable lengths. All cables will be cut using HP8753ES Network Analyzer to a fraction of mm.

With our antennas, we can suggest cable lengths for the desired antennas, or you can request any cable length you want. The best way is to send an e-mail and request advice.
