Building antenna arrays for VHF/UHF contesting needs high quality power dividers if the stacking gain is not to be reduced by mismatch losses. Antennas-Amplifiers make a range of power dividers for the VHF/UHF bands from 6m to 23cm. I tested their 8 way 23cm model since this is the most critical to manufacture and I have seen poor VSWR from another manufacturer’s products. The power divider is well engineered, with good quality N connectors, and even includes weep holes to keep moisture under control with thermal cycling outdoors. I tested the divider with eight professional N Type terminations using a calibrated Anritsu Sitemaster professional analyser and the return loss was > 27.5 dB (VSWR < 1.09:1) from 1,262 MHz to 1,302 MHz with maximum return loss > 32.5 dB (VSWR <1.05:1) limited by the loads used. Thus array performance will be limited by the antennas not by the power splitter. In summary a very well engineered product at a reasonable price. Highly recommended.
