2 Meter BandPass Filter with 144 – 146 MHz Very Low Noise Preamplifier.
The device contains a High Selectivity, High Q, Low Loss Bandpass Filter with a PGA-103+ Preamplifier.
This 144 – 146 MHz Bandpass filter will be perfect for suppressing out-of-band signals.
144 – 146 MHz bandpass filter and amplifier in one!
This combination consists of two devices:
1. 144 – 146 MHz High-Quality Low Loss (0.2 dB) RFI Bandpass Filter
2. Wideband Low Noise Amplifier with PGA-103+
Achieves better results than two separate components, with Lower NF of about 0.05 to 0.1 dB. Thanks to two fewer connectors.
Measured results with HP8753ES network analyzer full two-port calibrated:
Frequency and Attenuation:
1.82 MHz: – 75 dB
3.8 MHz: – 82 dB
7.1 MHz: – 80 dB
14.15 MHz: – 67 dB
21.2 MHz: – 62 dB
28.4 MHz: – 55 dB
50.1 MHz: – 40 dB
54 MHz: – 37 dB
70 MHz: – 29 dB
70.5 MHz: – 28.5 dB
FM: 88 MHz: – 18.5 dB
FM: 98 MHz: – 12.3 dB
FM: 108 MHz: – 5.3 dB
144 MHz: + 25 dB NF = 0.7 dB (Calculated bandpass filter insertion loss)
144.1 MHz: + 25 dB NF = 0.7 dB (Calculated band pass filter insertion loss)
146 MHz: + 25.1 dB NF = 0.7 dB (Calculated band pass filter insertion loss)
288.2 MHz: – 34 dB
296 MHz: – 36.5 dB
432.1 MHz: – 46 dB
440 MHz: – 44 dB
IP3out: > 37 dBm
Power consumption: +10-15 V / 100 mA
These excellent results were achieved by careful selection of components and design.
Thanks to input filtering, a preamplifier, and a bandpass filter combination are much more immune to interference from strong out-of-band signals. Compared to output filtering.
Measured Return Loss (S11) and Insertion Loss (S21) of 144 – 146 MHz Bandpass Filter and Amplifier:
The bandpass filter is enclosed in a strong 0.8 mm sheet brass box. Strong mechanics will ensure stability and longevity.
The version with relays is here. (EME 2 – 144 MHz)
